I walked in last Friday to get my hair braided. I presented with a photo as a reference point to how I wanted my hair braided. The owner Rita assured me they could style my hair like what I showed her on the picture, her words verbatim were “we can do anything”. I trusted her. She convinced me to purchase human hair for $120.00 per bundle, I purchased 2 bundles as recommended by her, she initially quoted me $160.00 per bundle, however that was a bit out of my price point so I declined, she took me next door to show me alternatives that weren’t as expensive but insisted the $160 per bundle was better quality hair and would garner better results, I told her I didn’t necessarily want to pay $320 for just the hair not to include the cost for braiding and tip, so she said she would give me a discount; $420 for everything (the “good” bundles (2) at $110 each and $200 for the cost of braiding). I’ll attach pics and you can see for yourself why I’m highly disappointed. The braiders were awful!!! .. once I arrived home and inspected my hair I called Rita to let her know my hair was poorly done. She asked me not to return the next day (Saturday) because it was really busy and convinced me to wait until Monday to return and promised it would be fixed then, I told her I would be working Monday but could come after work, I obliged out of courtesy, however feeling defeated since I’d have to walk around with my hair looking sloppy for two days. I returned Monday after work only to be told there was no one there to do my hair and to return the next day. I must say Rita was pleasant and apologetic throughout this whole process but that wasn’t good enough. The lady who called herself fixing my braids (one of the initial braiders) when I returned Tuesday didn’t seem she was too happy that I returned, she huffed and puffed the entire time, she dropped combs and hair on the floor but proceeded to reuse those items in my hair, she yanked away at my hair, anyone could clearly look at my hair at this point and determine it was a sloppy job, and it was still sloppy if not sloppier when she was finished. Perhaps she didn’t know what she was doing, perhaps she just didn’t care, who knows!! … now I’ve wasted approximately $460, oh because I forgot to mention that when I checked out they made me pay “tax” on the total cost since I was using a debit card. I’ve since then had my hair taken down which was another disaster. So see attached pictures and decide if you want to take the risk. They are horrible with human hair braids and that braider needs instruction on customer service as well as refraining from doing a style that she clearly doesn’t know how to do.
